Vancouver, WA — Andrew S. (Andy) Bonaventura, 73 years, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Gloucester, Mass., suddenly and peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2014. Born in Salemi (TP) Sicily to the late Joseph and Antonina (Lombardo), they immigrated to Boston in 1948, where they settled in the North End before making Medford their home. He graduated Medford High School in 1959 and continued his education at Suffolk University earning B.A. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics. He was a math teacher and Assistant Principal at Don Bosco Technical High School, Boston for many years, before teaching at Gloucester High School, where he was affectionately known as “Mr. B” by his students. His love of family, friends and students and teaching was genuine. He always had a smile on his face.
