Pasquale “Pat” Barletta, 90, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 in the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Muriel M. (Grover) Barletta. Born in Boston on February 10, 1924, he was the son of the late Andrea “Henry” and Madelena (D’Argenio) Barletta. He had resided in Rockport for several years before moving to Gloucester over sixty years ago. A U.S. Army veteran of World War Two, he was honorably discharged as a Technician 4th Grade in the 972nd Engineer Maintenance Company on February 15, 1946. He was a member of the American Legion Post #98 of Rockport. Pat was employed as a plant engineer at the former LePages in Gloucester of over fifty-five years. He enjoyed automobiles and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife of sixty-seven years, he is survived by his son, Richard A. “Rick” Barletta of Gloucester; his daughter, Jean M. Mondello and her husband, Gregory of Gloucester; three grandchildren, Melissa Tuck and her husband, Dan of Gloucester, Jennifer Senos and her husband, Joseph of Mooresville, NC and Gregory Mondello, Jr. and his wife, Carey of Quincy; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Allison and Christopher Tuck and Ave and Jack Senos; a brother, Nicola “Nick” Barletta of Rockport; a brother-in-law, William Grover and his wife, Marilyn of Venice, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Rosa Melanson and sister-in-law, Mary Barletta. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
