GLOUCESTER – Adrian L. Perry, 77, passed away early in the morning of Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the residence of Den Mar Health and Rehabilitation Center, Rockport. He was the husband of Judith N. (Adams) Perry. Born on December 19, 1936, at the Leander M. Haskins Hospital (Restcroft) at the top of Summit Avenue in Rockport, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Pearl G. (Haraden) Perry. He was raised in Gloucester and was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1956. Following high school, Adrian graduated from the Beverly United Shoe Machinery Trade School and worked as a machinist. During this time, he also attended night classes at Northeastern University, studying to become a tool design engineer with the Beverly U.S. Corporation. Adrian was a member of the Order of DeMolay, Cape Ann Chapter 1951. He joined the Masons at the age of 21 and the Aleppo Shriners in 1969. He was also a member of the The Tyrian-Ashler-Acacia Lodge, A.F. & A.M., the Boston and Salem Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Northeast Club. As a devoted gardener, Adrian attracted much attention from residents and visitors on Rocky Neck since 1975. In his spare time, he fished as many as 150 lobster traps aboard his boat the Vicky Lynn. In addition to his wife of 51 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Victoria L. Perry, Dawn M. (Perry) Knight; his daughter-in-law, Joan Perry, his sister, Edith (Perry) Moore, two brothers-in-law, Charles B. Gleason, Sr., and Fred Moore; a niece, Pamela F. Gleason and a nephew, Charles B. Gleason, Jr. He was also predeceased by his sister, Gertrude L. (Perry) Gleason. In keeping with his wishes, a private Masonic memorial service will be held.
