Manuel E. Brown, Jr. (Buddy), 84, formerly of Gloucester, Mass., passed away after a long illness at the Solaris Healthcare Center on February 1, 2017. Buddy was the son of the late Ann (Littlefield) Brown and Manuel E. Brown. Buddy graduated from Gloucester High School and attended mechanical engineering school and photography school. Buddy was also a certified member of the American Institute of Plant Engineers. Over the course of his life he held positions as a Facilities Engineer Manager at Polaroid, Varian, and ECC. After his retirement, he worked briefly for Publix Supermarket in Orlando. Buddy is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Seigas) Brown of 52 years; his daughter, Wanda Massinello, son-in-law, Joseph, and granddaughter, Nicole Rose Massinello of California. He was also predeceased by his sister, Catherine DeCoste; brother-in-law, Freeman DeCoste; and nephew, Dana DeCoste. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. Funeral arrangements will be held in Orlando, Fla., and Buddy will be laid to rest at Dr. Phillips Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in memory of Buddy.
