Paul Damon Littlefield, 96, of Annisquam, Mass., died February 10, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Lucy “Jackie” (Boyd) Littlefield and the late Emmy (Neiley) Littlefield. Mr. Littlefield was born June 8, 1920, in Cambridge, Mass. He was the the son of the late Walter Joseph Littlefield and Sally Pastorius Littlefield. Immediately upon being born he was brought to Annisquam, where he remained a summer resident until he moved there fulltime in 1989. He also resided in Darien, Conn., and Weston, Mass. He graduated from Harvard College, Class of 1942. During WWII, he served in the Navy on the submarine The Whale, retiring as a Lt. Commander. After the war, he attended Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar. He graduated in 1948. Paul’s career spanned many areas of finance. He was treasurer of Freeport Sulphur, Inc. in New York City, and then in 1962, he moved to Arthur D. Little, Inc. in Cambridge, Mass., where he became chief financial officer and senior vice president. He retired in 1985 but continued to consult on financial matters. He served on many boards during his career and after retirement, Trustee and past chairman, Old Sturbridge Village; trustee, Cape Ann Museum, Addison Gilbert Foundation, Gloucester Hospital, New England Medical Center; director, Cambridge Trust Co.; Treasurer, Annisquam Yacht Club. Paul was an avid sailor and tennis player. He was devoted to Annisquam and the city of Gloucester, in which Annisquam is a village. They were, along with his family, at the center of his life. He is survived by his children, Diane Littlefield Ritsher and her husband, John; Elizabeth Littlefield and Peter Littlefield; his grandchildren, Damon Berry and his wife, Loreen; Megan Berry and her husband, Brian Gottesman; Natalie Lindberg and her husband, Jason; Julia Lehman and her fiancee, Jesse Dixon; and his great-grandchildren, Sam, Lilah and Theo Gottesman, Foster, Porter and Berkley Berry, and Lucas Lindberg. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Littlefield; and survived by his sister and brother, Melissa Littlefield Carter and her husband, Tim; and Joshua Littlefield and his wife, Suzy.
