Mary Jean Morrison, 70, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017. She was born January 11, 1947, in Gloucester, Massachusetts to Oscar C. and Gertrude G. Harvey, who are both deceased. A nurse by training, Mary worked diverse jobs within the medical field, most recently as an office nurse for both Dr. Nixon and Dr. Humphries. Along the way, she also greatly enjoyed the several years she spent driving a school bus in Maryland. After retirement, she loved the work and her students, volunteering as an ESL teacher at the library. A lifelong lover of music, Mary enjoyed her years singing in the Harmony Shores Chorus & Quartet. She made many close friends at water aerobics and playing cards with the local cribbage club. She was devoted to her two Pomeranians and will be deeply missed by them and all her family and friends. Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her husband of 50 years, Henry Gregor Morrison; daughter, Kathleen Carrie Bates (Jeff); son, Bruce Gregor Morrison; two granddaughters, Cheyenne Bates and Casey Bates; three sisters, Marilyn D. Gallivan, Anne L. Gibbs (John) and Susan J. Mayo; two brothers, Frank C. Harvey and John M. Harvey (Grace); and numerous other family members and friends.
