GLOUCESTER: Annie E. Mello, 70, died Sunday, November 4, 2012 in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington following a brief illness. Born in Gloucester on October 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Evelyn I. (Barratt) Mello. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1960. Annie was employed as a receptionist at The Strong Group in Gloucester for thirty years before retiring in 2007. She had a true love of life and enjoyed family outings and walking the Stacey Boulevard. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy A. Mello of Gloucester and her fiancé, Nor Stedman of Lynn; her son, Edward F. Mello of Gloucester; two sisters, Evelyn F. Sears and Muriel “Sue” Burke and her husband, Dick all of Gloucester; a stepdaughter, Michelle Braden and her husband, Ron Kimmence, Jr. of Gloucester and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her fiancé, Arthur P. Shields and a brother-in-law, Frank Sears, Jr. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, November 16th in the Beechbrook Cemetery, W. Gloucester at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
