GLOUCESTER: Evelyn L. Perry, 87, died early Monday morning, November 19, 2012 at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Born in Gloucester on December 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Albert N. and Marietta “Marie” (Rischel) Perry. She was a lifelong resident and graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1941. Evelyn had been employed in the net and twine industry for the Linen Thread Company for many years. She later worked as a clerk at the former Electric Light Company on Main Street and the former Gray Chemical Company, now known at Matheson Gas. She was a fifty plus year member of the Seashore Rebekah Lodge, as well a a member of the Golden Age Club and the KeenAgers at Trinity Congregational Church. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy, wife of Bradley Kinghorn; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Richard, husband of Jan Perry and Mary Perry and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Alberta, and her husband, Chester Hiller, and her brother, Robert A. Perry. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. Interment will be held privately in the family lot in the Beechbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
