Gregory “Greg” Williams died at Addison Gilbert Hospital on January 5, 2017, due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was 68 years old. Greg was born on November 22, 1948, in Gloucester to Florence and Frederick Williams. He graduated from Gloucester High School in 1966. Greg was a Gloucester resident throughout his life. He worked for Gorton’s of Gloucester for many years, until an early retirement in the 1990s. Greg has many interests. He enjoyed traveling, which he did extensively with his parents. He was an avid baseball card collector, read extensively about history and enjoyed long walks around Cape Ann. Greg is remembered by friends and family as someone who was very generous and thoughtful, often purchasing small gifts for others. Greg’s funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday morning beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Greg’s life.
