Matteo Cusumano died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on December 18, 2016 in Trappeto, Sicily He was born in Trappeto on January 2, 1921 to the late Francesco and Croficissa (Logrande) Cusumano. He was a kind, humble and hard-working man and always had a smile for anyone he met He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Nina Crocetta Groppo and her husband Franco and by his loving grandchildren, Maria Groppo Carpenter and Enza Groppo, two great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Ryan all of Gloucester, his sisters Vincenza and Crocifissa, his two brothers-in-law Michele and wife, Giovanna and Vincenzo and wife Mary and sister-in-law Antonina, all of Trappeto. He is also survived by his special loving niece Graziella who took him under her wings and cared for him like she would her father since the passing of his beloved wife Vincenza 11 years ago, and by all of his family and friends everywhere who loved and admired him for the kind and loving man that he was. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 16, at 5 p.m. at Saint. Ann’s Church on Pleasant Street in Gloucester.
