Mr. Vito Cory Asaro, 58, of North Chelmsford passed away unexpectedly of pneumonia at his home on Friday morning January 13, 2017. He was always a kind and sweet person. All who knew him loved him. Vito was born December 29, 1958. He was the son of Peter and Angela (Tocco) Maggiore. In the settings where he lived, he most enjoyed sitting with councilors and social workers while pretending to do work side by side with them. They truly enjoyed this interaction with Vito. Vito may not have been aware of his great skills, but he was always a good worker. He was a sweet and lovable guy who will be missed by all who knew him. He loved music, dancing, bowling, frisbee and playing catch. Vito is survived by his father Peter V. Asaro, his mother Angela Maggiore and her husband Onofrio. He is also survived by his sisters Lana Bergman and her husband Bill, Patricia Jacobs and her husband Russell “Buddy” and Angela Anderton and her husband Wayne. As well, he is survived by his step sisters Frances Dow and her husband Paul and Lori Simpson and her husband Jeff and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna Lee Asaro and his niece Lana Marie Bergman. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all who helped take care of Vito throughout his life time. Vito’s Funeral Service will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St. Gloucester on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be in the Funeral Home on Monday evening January 16, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
