Peter Joyce, whom all of his friends know as “Ace,” passed away suddenly on February 1, 2017, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was born on June 8, 1948, and was 68 years old. Peter was born and raised in Gloucester and was the son of the late Paul L. and Dorothy M. (Keane) Joyce. He attended Gloucester Public Schools. Among his jobs, he was most proud of the years at Gloucester Engineering in which he traveled as a technician to various countries. In recent years, he and his wife enjoyed seeing old friends and playing Keno at Mitch’s. Peter was an avid sports fan and was very excited about the Patriots being in the Super Bowl. Peter was the President of the Resident Council at Den-Mar Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rockport, where he lived with his wife, Judy. He was a great advocate for all residents who needed him. Peter will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Joyce. They enjoyed a wonderful and happy marriage since 2005. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Keena Allen and her husband, Joshua of Norwood, Mass.; and his granddaughter, Skyler Mary Allen of Norwood, Mass. A Memorial Service will be held at Den-Mar Health and Rehabilitation Center, 44 South Street, Rockport, on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.
